S. David Pomrinse, MD, presiding. George James, MD was the Dean of Mount Sinai School of Medicine (1965-1972) and the first President of The Mount Sinai Medical Center (1969-1972). The speakers are: S. David Pomrinse, MD, Director of The Mount Sinai Hospital (1969-1975) and Executive Vice President of The Medical Center (1975-1977); Hans Popper, MD, PhD, Chairman of Pathology and Acting Dean and President after James' death; Gustave L. Levy, Chairman of Mount Sinai's Boards of Trustees (1962-1976); Arthur Frank, a member of the Class of 1972 of Mount Sinai School of Medicine; and Leona Baumgartner, MD, former Commissioner of the New York City Dept. of Health, where she worked with Dr. James prior to his appointment to Mount Sinai.
