This collection contains scanned facsimiles of manuscripts held in the collection of the Arthur H. Aufses, Jr. MD Archives.

These letters deal primarily with the staffing and administration of the Mount Sinai Hospital. Of particular interest is a handwritten note from "several Pacients" to Dr. Jacobi concerning the cruelty of the night nurse on the recently established children's ward. A handwritten letter from Dr. Jacobi to an unidentifed doctor, reporting the results of his examination of a patient, provides a glimpse of differential diagnosis as practiced in the late 19th century by a master physician.
